About New Amity Church
/i/About Us/Amity_Meeting_House_on_linen_250.jpg
New Amity originally started out as a "preaching station" at the Amity Meeting House in 1847.  It was officially organized in 1854 in the Liberty Hill area of Iredell County, west of Statesville.  In 1910, the church moved to Scotts, with a new facility being built one year later.  One year later, the church's name was officially changed from Amity to New Amity.  Its first pastor was Rev. Stafford Currie Millen in 1848, who was also the pastor of New Sterling Church.  Over the years, New Amity has been linked with several churches, including its current relationship with Stony Point ARP Church.

New Amity is currently working with a new church in development in the North Wilkesboro/Millers Creek area - Covenant Presbyterian Church.  This new work seeks to connect the people in Wilkes County with Jesus the Savior by sharing the Gospel - the good news - with everyone they meet.

The church’s vision is to share the good news about Jesus Christ in our community and in our families.  Come join us any time!

ARPWe are a member of the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, a denomination who traces its roots to the Associate (Seceder) and Reformed (Covenanter) Churches in Scotland.  We believe in the authority of the Bible as our main governing document, our rule for faith and practice, and we believe the centrality of the doctrine of grace in our Gospel Ministries.
